Philosophically, A Material should be made to depict its’ true qualities-texture, colour, feel, reflection/glare/absorption capabilities.

Scientifically, The Bond in the wall need not be manipulated/ bungled up. Covering anomalies leads to hypocrisy.

Structurally, It can take the wear & tear from the outside and can bear the dust collection, if the joints are groove pointed. Because it is exposed, bond (Hopefully) is maximum & structural capability is maximum.

Emotionally, The Feeling of being truistic…That emotive satisfaction that One (I have) has been sincere

Romantically , The belief(Strong) that it creates a poetry of a kind of its own!!! & The joy of having sung a different pleasing song to self (Hopefully so for others too).

Psychologically, With all the sincere reasons above adhered to with clinging belief, the ego is satisfied of having done the best, not having used up the resources unnecessarily, The concern for the eco-system & other Co-beings having been sated, the JOY is IMMENSE.
