EARTH QUAKE I wish I were a fish; I could swim in water, I wish I were a bird; I could fly in sky, I wish I were an earthworm merrying underground. I was out there, one with the nature enjoying the bliss, Then came Sun, wind, rain and birds and animals, Along with the need, greed and fear; The process created my space, I enclosed myself, Slowly shearing myself away from nature And I wished I could live in the nest on a tree and enjoy the freedom again; I realized that the space I had created and enclosed had Ritually fossilated into a structure and then the earth shook, Wind blew, water flooded, fire spread and space merged; I think I am human and not a worm or bird or fish Now, I worry about my safety and Sun and Wind and Rain And Fire and Quakes and Plates and Tectons and what not? I wish I were a fish; I could swim in water, I wish I were a bird; I could fly in sky, I wish I were an earthworm merrying underground. K.R.Ganesh- 25-05-2001.
