Memories of Last 6 months Journey Jan-June2010.
This 6 months journey has few memorable reminiscences.
Urban Design 2 sem- Research Methodology (Me handling 1st time) gave me quite a Joy and Pleasure, because, I had to prepare before going inside the class.. This gave additional learning opportunities as well as confidence for the future. Their individual Presentations were quite good, though wanting some more in terms of analytical inputs. Special Mention-Nilufer, Even though joined a month late, has done quite well to make up and Catch on. On the whole I suppose there has been created an environment of motivation and urge to excel. The Stress shall be more on Application rather than theoretical knowledge alone. My Best wishes to All the 8******** Stars (10-2).
4th sem BCM- As usual, It is fun handling fresh and young minds. Though their responses during the course were not very encouraging, their Portfolios show that they have fairly understood the topics and to Majority of them, My inputs are not wasted. The quality of models this time was not up to the mark, perhaps due to pressure of their other subjects. Their grasping capability is quite adorable, but, I am sure they will catch up with their commitment to complete the tasks. In general, the sketching capability is going down and I wonder (Or am I sure?) if it is due to removal of T-Square and drafting. The average level of performance this semester is perhaps more satisfying. My Best Wishes to them for their 5th sem.
4thsem Climo- 2 stray cases to pain me. But apart from that, the rest appear to have got their climo basics strong, including Sun-Path diagrams. Almost everyone in the class seems to have understood the problem 1 & 2 clearly in their design attempts. I feel fulfilled. The process of 2nd design was incomplete, though a few have got it right. Others, perhaps because they have their basic understanding being right, and concepts are clear, the designs do not have any major flaws, except that they have not been detailed out, with respect to roof forms etc. I wish them all the best.
8 sem EQRA- The previous 2 years successful joy could not be matched. Reasons/Excuses are--a). Started halfway through b).There may have been repetitions in what they were already told and what I discussed c). The attendance schedule got disturbed quite often due to exhibition work, change over in the time- table d). The lack / non availability of audio-visual facilities were a major handicap e). I may be wrong, but I feel I have not understood their interest level and motivation intensity. There is large variation, with some of them very, very enthusiastic, some highly interested, some others very sincere in this topic, some disinterested or unable to devote and denote time. On the whole I had a fruitful session, because I have been successful in bringing joy of understanding and smile on their faces. Just because I have had previous 2years of example to compare with, it may not be right on my part to deny them their due appreciation (Poor things - They have had their own other testing problems). I wish them all the best, with the assurance that ‘I am available to You any time You need me’-Do well.
My Own PGDEL 3 subjects filling my time, 3Assignments, 3Quizzzes, Group Discussion Forums, Postings, Innumerable (not really) mails and replies helping me learn and unlearn.
The above are enough excuses for not blogging for so long.

Sir nice to see your blog, it was really good experience with you for all of us. I would like to say you that, we all scored very well in Research Methodology. Thank you sir for motivating us and taking us on a tour of Research methodology
